Looks sweet. How wide are the shoes and what is the offset? Can you show some pics showing how far they stick out in front and back? What kind of tires?

clkal, the new rims look great. What make, width and offset are they? How did you like the VI's you had on the clk430, been contemplating getting those for my black clk with amg-body kit.

Please upload a few more shots of the front of the car to show the grill at different angles.

they are the MRR GT-1's. 19X8.5 235/35/19 front and 19X9.5 265/30/19 rear. I believe the offset is ET+38 both front AND back. No spacers needed either to clear my AMG brakes in the front (which was my main concern)

I only have one pic I took w/ my camera phone, in front of 7-11, to show you the aftermarket grill......

also, I liked the VI's a lot back then, because nobody really knew about the replicas....now, everybody has a set.

Yeah, know what you mean. However I live in Norway and I have not seen a merc with the VI's on over here. I have also been looking at some new AMG VI replicas with 1,25'' front lip and 2,75'' rear lip, they also have offsett ET38. The TUV approved fitment is ET31, so I would think the wheels would look somewhat tucked without 7mm spacers, but yours actually looks great in the picture. I'm of the opinion that the front wheels stick out to far on most peoples setups, yours looks just right. I think if you ran 7mm spacers in the back only you would get the right look. Agressiv stance in rear with ET31 and nice setup in front, wheels not poking out far, with ET38.

Thanks superstar! (I assume you were talking about my car )

Hey Orpheus, I got my grille from formymercedes .com, I just checked the site and it looks like they still have it. You can also get similar ones off ebay as well. Cheers mate!

hey how much did you lower your car by and what springs and shocks did you use. I want to lower mine but most mechanics over here in london advise against it. I dont know what to do. I already ordered a set of eibach sportline spings but am in two minds whether to fit them or not.

Hey, I lowered my car by replacing the springs with the H&R springs all around (not sure the model number), and replacing the spring pads in the front with #2 pads. Before I replaced the pads in the front, changing the springs made almost no difference. Yeah, they always advice against it because it is a rougher ride, easier to hit stuff, etc. but if you get springs that are made for your car, you shouldn't have a problem... I don't have any personal experience with the eibachs, but eibach does make good springs... Good luck!

Quartz is an amazing color, I love how it changes so much in different lighting conditions. I only wish my paint was in as good condition as yours, the previous owner of my car didn't keep it garaged and it shows.
