Another EFFIN CD CHANGER PROBLEM
So, not only do I have the occasional NO CD CHANGER error on my POS car, but now, my magazine is stuck and the car says NO MAGAZINE. When I press the button, it just blinks for like 10 secs and turns off. No sound wat-so-ever that it's trying to eject. WTF do I do about this Sh*t!

you can always search the forum for similar questions...
try unplugging the power to the changer & the optic cable... wait a few seconds and plug it back in... that will usually reset and fix the jammed cartridge...
2nd, unplug the battery to reset the radio to recognize the changer...
3rd... throw away ur busted cd changer, and buy mine...

Thanks Danny. #2 and #3 have already been done. The CD Changer that I am currently using is from my old CLK. I have to say, that '99 CLK kills my '02. I never had any problems with that car. I'm going to try unplugging it thanks for your help.

Yeah, I had the same problem with mine. For years the dealer were not able to find out the problem why it's not communicating. Changed 3 head units and 4 cd changers. Also the fiber optics were changed. It was a pain in the *** but finally, it was one minor overlooked mixup that's causing the head unit to not communicate with cd changer. Apparently, cd changer are made by 2 manufacturers. One is "alpine from Germany" and the other is "the standard ones-don't remember the manufacturer". They keep on changing cd changers that didn't communicate with the head unit. They ended up special ordering one from Germany-took a week, installed it and never had a problem since. They say it's not a typical problem that occurs in every car, maybe 1out of 10,000. Never had a problem since.

Strangest thing, I went to unscrew the CD Changer so I can unplug it like Danny said but right before I tried my luck by hitting the eject button and the changer came out. I put it back in and it works.

I met up with MMGRAD (Danny) this weekend to arrange purchase of his stock 6-disc changer to replace my broken one.
Not that any of you regulars don't already know this, but Danny was great to do business with. He met me on time, with a product as advertised and at the price we agreed to.
Since he has so many mods on his car I figured he might be trying to sell some of his stock stuff from time to time and I wanted to leave him 100% positive feedback on this forum.
These forums are great for getting people with like interests together and I have always received solid advice and fair deals on MBWorld. Let's give credit where credit is due and call out the posers quickly so we can get the word out on those who are not MBZ enthusiasts.....
