Lightbulb Silvervisions!

Last night I made my own "silvervision" bulbs out of the turn signal bulbs. It was the best $3.49 (spraypaint) I've spent yet for a mod. I did a search on the forum for references to silvervision bulbs and came up with only one thread. Have many of you done this?

I have the real Phillips Silvervisions in my car. They're only $25 per pair, and actually blink brighter than stock.

For those of you who aren't familiar with what we're talking about, these bulbs are silver, which look clear inside the light assembly; but they illuminate amber! Doing this is an effective way to have a clear corners on a CLK and most MB's that still blink amber. You can see (or actually not see ) pictures of them on the front of my car in this recent thread .

Thanks

Ben

Are these legal here in CA? Was thinking of putting some and the shop i went said that if you install them in the front they're ok but not for the rear? Also where do you buy these?

I got pulled over at "The Block" for a bunch of stupid things, like driving a nice car, etc... I got a ticket for not having a front license plate, and then the 2nd cop (it took backup to handle something this big) spotted that there was something different about my lights. I said that they blink amber and are completely legal. They of course had me show them, and I was not ticketed for it.

We sell the bulbs for $25 a pair.

No worries, it only cost me $10 and some tape to fix the license plate ticket!

Where do the silvervisions go? Front, rear, or on the mirrors? All three? Can you get them at the auto parts store? Do they come in different sizes for different cars, or is it one size fits all?

The silvervisions replace the front amber bulbs that are your turn signals. For $3.49 you can go to Home Depot and get the Rustoleum Specialty High Heat silver spray paint (#7716) and paint them yourself. It couldn't be easier.
I'm not sure about the LEDs in the mirror turn signals. Anyone paint those?

Silvervision bulbs work on the front and rear blinkers. Most auto shops do not carry them. In fact, we have several Honda and Lexus owners who call us just for these. I have plenty in stock, and can ship them the same day they are ordered.

Thanks

Ben

I've been debating on changing my license plate, since I have surpased the 430HP mark. Although, when I am finished, I should be putting 430HP to the wheels. Any suggestions?

Picked up four pairs of Silvervisions today (2 for me, 2 for my friend). I installed them in about 15 minutes, it took longer than it should have because I had to shave off one of the prongs.

I took a bunch of pictures after I installed one in the front and one in the rear. They are located at:

http://www.err0neous.org/mbz/silvervision

Ben is right, they blink slightly brighter than stock.

I am going to see what I can do about painting the bulbs in the rear view mirrors this weekend.

They work the same as the bulbs you currently have for your blinkers, only they are silver when not illuminated. Silver looks completely clear inside the front and rear light assemblies, so unless your blinker is on, you have clear corners.
