Purchasing an '02 CLK430 AMG
#51
I'm new to MB ownership, but I've been actively looking at MBs for the last few weeks, and there are no shortage of mint condition, low miles, and a fair price out there to even consider this deal. Sounds sketchy. Don't get emotionally attached.

A couple updates for everyone who helped me on here!
0. First, THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP !
1. The dealer has relisted the car on ebay, for the $24,995 buyout that he finally offered to me last week after all my negotiation. And in the ad, there is no mention of all the stuff that I dug up (after spending $200+ on inspections) -- the accident, the severe curb rash, the outstanding $2000 worth of short term repair .. nothing. I guess for a moment there I couldve believed that he hadnt listed this on his original auction as he may not have known about it (as he claimed) -- but now when he clearly knows about it and still doesnt call it out in the description, has me thankful that I stayed away. Anyways, so I had half a mind of sending him a nasty email telling him that this is wrong and he should .. but then I decided to wait. His auction ends in about 12 hours .. and I'm debating emailing the high bidder before the auction ends and sending him the inspection report and the carfax report that I pulled. Any thoughts?
2. I tried my luck again at an auction for a '02 CLK 430 but lost by 3 dollars
:p
3. So finally, I went from one extreme (a luxury sportster CLK 430), to another and ... [drumroll] ... I am soon to be the proud owner of an '01 740i. Couldnt pass up a deal this sweet. Havent seen the car yet, havent had it inspected yet, but it comes with a 3 month/3000 mile warranty at no cost, and the dealer has great feedback. So I am keeping my fingers crossed and taking the plunge.
Thanks again and please let me know your thoughts on dealing with this shady ebay dude
