I've changed the gauge surfaces from dark grey (Elegance) to white (Sport/Avantgarde). I also installed chrome rings.

You could also pick up a 2000 + instrument cluster if you have a 99 to give it a more updated look. I believe you have to get the mileage reporgrammed to match yours.

watsup j i noticed that you said that you can put the 2000 and up guage cluster on a 1999 clk to make it more updated. i was looking at both and i noticed that they both have the same looking plug one on the top right and one on the top left. and i know that you said that you have to get youre milage programed into the new cluster. but other than that would it just be a plug and play. or do you have to customise the wiring or anything or can i just buy a 2001 gauge cluster and plug it into my 1999? again i don't care about the milage read out being correct i just want to make sure that it';s plug and play and all the read outs are accurate such as temp, time, the water level warning, oil warning, e-brake warning etc.
thanks man i really appreciate it

I bought used instrument panel from German eBay (www.ebay.de), it cost me around $80 shipped. I changed the white faces from that one to one that I had and still have on my car (=no programming needed). The operation took about 3 hrs because it was hard to remove the gauge pointers. I can give further instructions on this.
