door lock pin surround help
i bought door lock pin surrounds from formymercedes. i managed to remove the rubber door lock pin surrounds but cant seem to get the new door lock pin surrounds to fit. any idea how this can be done?

I realized that they copied the oem plastic pin surrounds exactly and didn't take into account the lack of pliability with aluminum, tsk tsk.
Cover the heads with tape so you dont slip and scratch 'em then use a fine rasp file and remove the threads almost all the way. Check as you go. Mine popped in tightly with minimal filing.

i managed to file and fit the door pin surrounds. but now the passenger side pin rattles.

hah what a coincidence! wow thats a gd idea. i thought of using bits of a black sponge and supergluing them to the side of the door pin that rattles.
