2002 CLK55
Just got my 55! CLK55 operating temp?

Hey guys, finally made the jump from Lexus to MB. Just got my Blk/Blk 2002 CLK55 today. Awesome car. Just had a question regarding the temperature reading. I was wondering if the normal operating temp shown on the gauge should be around 90 plus or minus a few degrees.
Also, does the harmonic balancer problem and the MAF problem occur in the 2002 CLK 55's? I could not seem to find a definitive answer to this question via the search feature. Thanks in advance and let the mods begin!
18' Mono's, H&R, Koni's on the way soon!

Temp is fine. IIRC, it has a thermostat designed for 87 deg. F. Check the service records to see if a flush has been completed previously.

The harmonic balancer recall should not affect 2002 CLK55...we received the updated part at the factory, but it's always a good idea to inspect periodically for degradation.

MAF issues seem inherent on this car, and may be exacerbated by the use of oiled filters.

Congrats and welcome!

2002 CLK55
Thanks for the info Chappy.
Blackbenzz, I had a 2001 GS430 w/21k but decided to sell it cuz my buddy made me an offer I could not refuse on the 55. Pretty much an even swap with no $$ out of pocket. The 55 does come with mono's but in 17'. I will be going 18' with 235 and 265 combo as the rears have a hard time putting the power to the pavement.
Lovin the BEAST!

As 55Power has mentioned, the W208 CLK55s came with 17s.
