Unhappy Need help" Wheels Hitting the Body"

Hi

I just got new wheels
front 19 + 8.5
back 19 + 9.5

for my clk 320 2001 AMG kit
but I was told they are hitting (or almost) the body because they are too wide
I don't know how to solve that do I have to use spacers
I know spacers are used with AMG only
I will be greatful if you can help me

Come down first take some pictures of the car so we can see where the problem is. What size of tires are you running? Do you have a different suspension or the car or is stock? Give us more details on it and final welcome to the forums

I dont think you need spacers because the spacers will move the wheel away from the hub, wich means the wheel will be close to the body. I need to see pictures on how and where is it hitting, is it doing it in the front, back or both.

Also how wide are the tires in the front and the back 91,92,93,94,95 etc

I will try to take some Pic
the waird thing here is the wheels are not hitting top of the fenders( this is what you think) right! they are hitting the body from inside!! they are TOO WIDE that is why I am thinking spacers may help beca they will move the wheels away from the body

Ok, i get it now but when you said hitting the body i tought it was hitting the fenders or quater panels. What you having is an internal rubing issues, and yes then you will need spacers to fix it. i cant really tell you what size of spacers you might need since i never had to use them in my life here is a link that might help you how to meassure it right so you can get the right spacers
make sure you read at the bottom of the page and it will have a picture on the right side. hope this helps http://www.performancealloys.com/all...el_spacers.asp

CLK A, what is the offset of your wheels? It should be stamped on the back of your wheels. On our cars spacers reduce the offset so you can figure out how much spacer width you need based on this. I think the consensus is that the ideal offsets for 208's are 35 front and 32 or 35 rear. So if your wheels have a 45mm offset, a 10mm spacer would make it fit like a 35 offset. Make sure to get longer lug bolts if you get spacers.
