battery replacement
Hello all, well my battery died on me today when i was in manhattan and what a time waster..well anyway i wanted to know how many people changed their battery and did they use aftermarket or the orginal? I was curious because my father insists i get an interstate battery when I said ill purchase the factory one instead please someone shed some light on this for me
Dont buy the interstate battery. Either get the factory one or a lightweight racing battery (i know weight reduction on an MB is almost pointless, but when i costs less and works just as well, why not?)
well i purchased the battery but now I still get the visit workshop battery/alternator msg. Is there any way for me to reset the computer other than taking it to the dealer? also now my window goes down but doesnt come back up after opening and closing the door. thanks
ok i synced all the other things but im still getting the msg to check battery/alternator...does this msg come off automatically after replacing the battery or is there something that I have to do?

after you change the battery, you need to reset that error... you need to turn the steering wheel all the way to left (hold) then turn all the way to the right(hold) and the system should reset on the next startup. you should also check that your radio & alarm is working properly

nope its still doing it, i followed ure instructions and it still comes up with the battery/alternator msg. I called up mb and they said that the alternator probably isnt good, but the car is under warranty otherwise that part is 560 at warehouse price

i had the alternator/battery message a short while ago... turns out, it wasn't the alternator or battery, it was the alternator regulator... warranty fix, free of charge...
