CD Changer not recognized
But now I can't seem to get the Command to recognize the CD changer anymore. It always say it's "NO CD CHANGER".
I followed the some instructions that was posted on the 203 forum where one member disconnected the power to force a "scan" on the CD changer. I saw the temporary message "Scanning for CD Changer" but it always resulted in "NO CD CHANGER" message.
I am pretty sure that the fiber line is not broken as i can see at the CD changer end the red lights were blinking when i turn on the command. I can also hear the CD changer trying to do something.
Is this the issue with the Command Unit not setup to recognize the CD changer? Am I forced to take this to the dealer to have the command reprogrammed to recognize it now? Could there be anything else that's wrong here?
for a few minutes. but given the fact that this may introduce a host of memory
setting issues which can throw folks, we'll try plan B....
pull the fuse and this will serve the same purpose, ie disrupt the power from
the head unit. hopefully this will cause the luggee to be expelled.
similarly (for me) this was the easiest as I have all thumbs as well as the
head unit removal keys in the toolbox: slide out the head unit and yank the
power cable.
how long to disrupt power? i dunno. i usually go up and brew a cup of coffee
and dink around on MBWorld and come back down to reconnect. hasn't failed
since.....and avoids having to reset the windows, roof, seats etc.....
oh....be sure you have your radio access code at hand.
p.s. i have 1999 and 2000 E320 and do not have Command. the aforementioned
reflects this experience

to go to your dealer with VIN in hand and try to get from them. if not, you can try contacting from La Jolla audio repair.
