2001 CLK320
Lightbulb Trunk lock out

you use the mechanical key to manually lock the trunk. This will disable the interior trunk release button as well as they remote function on the smart key.

The remote and the trunk release button will not work until you unlock the trunk cylinder with the mechanical key.

This is detailed in the owner's manual as well.

You might not be doing it right. Turn the key counter-clockwise until it stops.

Wrong guy - you're talking about me

I actually decided to fly to Germany for a few (vacation) and just got back - taking delivery this coming Wednesday or Thursday depending on what day my buyer decides to pick up my Mustang.

Will keep y'all updated!

BTW, is there anything specific I wanna have them do to my car before I take delivery? I remember reading something about 15-second lights but can't remember...

Thx.

mbtech....i have a 99 clk...i don't know if that's different (more)

but turning the key counter clockwise unlocks everything and begins lowering the windows. turning the key clockwise, electronically locks the car (and raises the windows), but i can't pull the key out in that position....i have to return it to the 12'oclock position to remove the key. at that point, if i use the electronic key or the switch in the car, the trunk will still pop.
