*** Windows ***

This question is in reference to the black rubber trim around the door which secures the windows.

Now, I know that our windows come up and down a little bit when the door is opened, but when i roll the windows up and down on both sides, the rubber tends to be a tad bit sticky and makes the windows make this squeeking noise everytime i roll them up and down. not only that, it also makes the windows putter cause it is just too sticky in some parts. this has caused the rubber to start peeling as well. i have no idea what to do ! maybe coat the rubber with a solvent thats not so sticky? any suggestions??

thanks !

You can take the trim out and clean them up a little with warm water and let them dry for 30 minuts.

Squeaks, rattles and other noises are part of the CLK tradition. Actually someone put a long thread about how to fix each noise. I think the squeaky window (which plagued me) solution is to take the rubber out and glue some felt on the window edge. This should stop the rubbing. It occurs more frequently when the temperature goes up and is annoying when trying to inmpress someone with your nice car.
