Alignment question
I've been getting som vibrations at or around 65 MPH therefore I decided to take it in to get the balance and alignment checked on the car. the balance went fine, but the alignment did noto get done at all. They stataed that their machine would not pick up specs ont he car and that they received a warning light on their machine asking them to refer to OEM alignment machinery. In other words, Mercedes has to do my alignment. Is this a true story or are they pulling my chain.

Nope, not one MOD. Stock Rims, Stock Sptings, Stock Suspension all around. I was very confused when he told me this. I'am a New Benz owner, virgin you may say. BMW's were the cars for me till this one. The design is beautiful. Wow, does Mercedes want all the money?

I took it to a new auto service center here in acworth, GA. Very nice people, they even give you a ride home if you do not want to wait for the car. They could not do the alignment, but they did the balance and did not bother to charge me becuase they did not satisfy me completely. There were other Benzes in there as well as BMW's, 2000 and up from what I can see. Just to give you an idea as too what kind of work they do. I'am definitely not taking my car to the benz dealership to get an alignment, thats nuts. They were goingt o charge me 90.00 for the allignment, in case you were curious

I would take your car to Butler Tire (in Doraville). Make an appointment and go early Saturday morning and wait for them to do it right.
As to the cost, I really don't know...but it will be a lot less expensive than eating a $1000 set of tires prematurely. BTW, they were the ONLY ones that could get rid of a slight shimmey in my 55 on the high speed balancer.
Good luck and let us know how it works out for you.
