New Suspension Completed!!
I got my suspension work completed yesterday. I have a 2002 CLK320 w/ 17' AMG. I wanted an aggressive look as well as better handling. I just felt the OEM suspension was too loungy and made me feel like i was driving a seville or something. Anyhow, i got the H&R Cup Suspension Kit Stage 3.5.
includes:
H&R Springs
H&R Shocks (non coilover)
I really do like the feel (tight cornering, no body roll) and look now. Thanks for the advice and shout out to Curry's Auto in VA for hooking my ride. Peace out..

MY RIDE
Since i don't want to mix and match springs and shocks by using different brands, i was thinking of a full kit/package that's why the HR cup kit sorta caught my attention, right now i'm saving up for a Kleemann Speed Sensitive Suspension (2100$ lol), I'm almost there...any one know how do the STAGE 2/STAGE 3.5 HR Cup kits compare to Kleeman's speed sensitive suspension kit?

Congrats on the new suspension, i'm seriously contemplating about getting an improved suspension cuz like you said the one's on the stock CLK's are kind of weak. How much did you pay for the entire kit? The website says about $895 dollars, not toooo bad in my opinion compared to something like Kleemann suspension. but dang 1.9 inches, i don't want my car to be lowered that much, how are the STAGE 2 kits? Are they anygood?

sup goldeni,
thanks bro.. Wow..895.00 is alot. I paid 615.00 delivered. I ordered from tirerack. Plus installation costs. Actually, I contemplated getting something like Kleemann but opted for the HR cup kit. Reason being, I know a few race car drivers in the area who race w/ H&R Sports Springs and Shocks. Having said that, i checked out their rides and the handling was totally awesome. :-) I have to test drive a suspension prior to buying it..you know. Plus the reputation of H&R is great. And frankly paying 2100 is alot for suspension, unless you will racing the CLK. I am have no desire to race or take it to the track. So, I went w/ H&R
I dont know anyone in my area w/ Kleenman so I really can't comment on the ride. But forum members swear by them, so they must be good. I couldn't justify spending 2k. As far as the drop is concerned..check out the pic and let me know if it's too aggressive. I think it's fine for everyday driving. Good luck w/ your purchase keep us posted..peace

the streets do suck, however the drop w/ 17' rims are doing ok as long you drive slow and carefully. I see cars with 19' to 22' in DC but just gotta be careful..

any rubbing?
wow, very nice drop IMO. Doesn't look too low, but the shadow under the car on the picture sorta makes it hard to see how low it truly is.
any rubbing?

ohh damn. we just got back from Cafe Asia and I tell you this car is dropped just perfect. The cupkit is absolutely a dream. Even for DC streets, if u drive carefully you should be okay. I am in love with this car now. I think it can give a M3 run for it's money. Smooth. All the ladies were asking so many questions..
anyway, time for some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzs.

how's the comfort level compared to stock? is the improvement in handling worth the degradation, if any, of the the car's comfort? thanks.... by the way, went to Cafe Asia (if its the same one with stairs inside and those plastic stools for chairs) when I was in D.C., nice place, food was aite...
