I have a friend that has an extra set of the AMG 5 spoke wheels that are 18 x 8.5 w/ 255-40's and 18 x 9.5 w/ 285-35's. Does anyone know if these will fit on the CLK430? The wheels are off of a '03 SL55 if that helps.

I highly, highly doubt it. The max tire width in the front is 225 without spacers and the max rear is 255. You can of course use spacers and modify your suspension geometry, but my guess is that you'd rub like crazy if you could even get them on.

I suspect the offset is wrong, not to mention the wheel lugs are 2mm larger. To be certain, I recommend posting in the Wheels and Tires forum and direct your question to "Luke" at the Tire Rack. Good luck.
