CLK-Class (W208) 1998-2002: CLK 200, CLK 230K, CLK 320, CLK 430 [Coupes & Cabriolets]

anyone know what this switch looking thing is?

anyone know what this switch looking thing is?

today i went under the car to tighten up the driver side fog light... jacked up the car removed the plastic mud guard panel below(about 7x8 in size).. then tighten the bolts BUT then found this sensor/switch lookin thing.... anyone have any idea if this is suppose to hang like this? or is it suppose to connect to something? any help is gladly appretiated!

2004 CLK500, 78 6.9,
It's the outside air temperature sensor. I wish I knew where it went on a W208, but in my W209, it attaches to the metal grill around the foglight. It sticks straight out towards the front of the car like a little antenna.
