jesus crackers!

ok i have been reading about lowering the whip. i know 20" wheels are not the big thing here but i have some for my 320 on the way. been told in order for it not to look like a SUV i should lower it. here is my question can i just lower the car on 20's just buy changing the pads like #1 up front and a # 4 in the rear would that be enough. just trying to keep a alright ride quality (i know thats hard with 20's)

or should i use the drop kit by eibach

2000 CLK 320
its all personal preference many people use eibach and many use H&R...I hvae always used H&R on all my vehicles (thats just me) changing the pads is a cheap way of lowering a vehicle, but i'm not sure if it will be enough of a difference for the use of 20's and maintain a smooth ride...

any more insight???
