1999 CLK320 - Side Curtain Airbags?

1999 CLK320 - Side Curtain Airbags?
Hello,
A friend of mine is trading in a 1999 CLK 320 for a 2006 CLK 350. I decided today that I could purchase this car since it only has 60K and it was very well maintained. Could someone please tell me if this model of car would have been equipped with side curtain airbags. The owner wasn't aware if the car was equipped since she isn't really well versed on the equipment level of the car. She is the original owner and this isia great opportunity for me. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated on my question as well as anything I should be aware of regarding this year of CLK. Regards

These tags are on panels on each of my doors('99 320), are you saying it's just decoration?
While not "curtain" airbags they do provide safety for the front seat occupants.
