19" wheels on CLK, does this work
I am confused. I just talked to a few wheel resellers and they say that no 19" wheel is bolt on for a CLK.
If this is true, what is needed to make a 19" wheel work.
Any recomendations on a 5 spoke 19 incher either chrome or brushed alum. in color would be great especially if you provide me a link.
My budget is around $2500 for the wheels alone, without tires.

who did you talk to? All of the famous MB tuners use 19" wheels on their cars. Tire Rack even has them (800-445-0179 ext 362 ask for luke) and if you check the gallery here and at mbnz.org you will see plenty of 19" on CLKs. All you need to do is buy the right one that fits and bolt it on. No mods are necessary unless you buy a very wide (i.e. 10 inch) wheel in the rear. This may cause you to have to roll the rear fender lip, which is no big deal. If you have 2500 for wheels alone. that's about 625 a wheel, so try the Carlsson 2/5 brilliant in 19x8 F and 19x9 R for a five spoke wheel. You can also try the Carlsson 1/6 evo at 399/ea, but it's not a five spoke design. If you want to see how these look, go to this link and "try them on". You can even change your car color, year, and wheel finish and size. Those wheel resellers you spoke to have no idea what's going on.
