carbon fibre printing

how effective is carbon fibre printing (not overlay ok) just normal printing...was quoted USD 250 for trims....reasonable? and do u guys think it will peel after a while?

is not the stickers....they have to remove the trim and print a layer of the "carbon" and later a layer of lacquer

Water Transfer Printing

It's called "water transfer printing" (WTP). I researched it heavily before putting overlaying my 430 interior with real carbon fiber. It's a very cool technology and they can "print" any pattern you can think of. I was thinking of some other patterns like an aluminum mesh also.

WTP was actually was more expensive than the real thing when I checked, primarily due to the top dash trim (long piece below the windshield). That piece alone was about $300 and the total was about $600. The other issue is that any parts that have curvature will not look exactly like real carbon because the pattern follows the curve more than real carbon would. I don't think this would be a big deal though and only those paying a lot of attention would notice.

$250 for everything is a very good price and if done properly, there is no reason why this won't last as long or longer than your original finish.

yup.....wat abt doing on the engine cover? would the heat generated damaged it?
