Dash Squeak fixed!
My 01 430 had a minor but annoying dash squeak that was fixed by Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach. They removed the dash & placed a piece of felt "to friction points where dash & lower part of windshield meet." Another dealer had not been able to hear the squeak.

I've had the same problem, but it was an easy DIY fix. In mine the dash only touches the windsheild in a few places and I was able to get pieces of black felt between them and eliminate the squeak.
It just doesn't seem right for a car this expensive (let alone an MB) that squeaks like this. It drove me crazy until I fixed it.

I also had the squeak, but it it was constant and a major annoyance. Fixed it DIY with help from the guys here and on the CLK55 board. It was so easy and quick, I was kicking myself for waiting a week to attempt it.

I had something similar when I picked up my convertible. Virtually impossible to locate that squeak while driving. It almost seemed to come from the upper windshield frame. And guess what, somebody had already glued the wires up there to the inside of the interior panel...
Then my wife insisted it came from right in front of her. She pressed on the wood strip on the dash, and voila, the squeak disappeared. A droplet of teflon spray or two behind the wood strip silenced the noise. I haven't heard a thing in years
