Headlight Malfunction light
I have a 2000 CLK-430 Convertible and keep getting "Headlight Malfuncion" come up on my information screen where all my lights are working. This goes on for a few hours then goes away. I want to take it to the shop but cant get the light to stay on and get there. Any thoughts why this keeps coming and going?

same problem
I have a 2001 430 clk and would have the same problem. Would bring it into the shop and they would "fix" the problem. It has happened maybe three times more after that (every 3 months or so). The car is now out of warranty and the malfunction light came on, but this time the smaller headlight on the passanger side does not light up--only when high beams are on. Changed the light with two different bulbs but the results are the same. Wondering if there is a loose wire or ground somewhere---Why would the high beam work but not low beam on new bulbs?
