Hi, I have a 99 clk 430 dose anyone know how to to replace the bulbs in the License plate. I want to upgrade to a High Intensity Super Bright white bulb, and is it safe to do so. Thanks, L 430

It's rather easy, takes about 5 minutes.

Open the trunk, look at the top part on the inside, take out the plastic cap screws, about 7 or 8 of them, and then slowly just take off the carpet lining. You'll see the bulbs, and then replace them and put the carpet lining back in.

I haven't had problems with mine yet. And I think other people on the board have done it also.

becareful with those super bright lights....make sure they dont get super hot and melt the casing...heard of a few pple on the w210 section with that problem
