Unhappy B A M

Ever heard of that saying that "No good deed goes unpunished"

So I left work early today and I'm driving home. Those of you who live in the Northern Virginia area know that today was a really beautiful day (especially for Blackbenzz since this weekend's one day closer) It was 70 or so degrees, clear skies and a little breeze - plenty of dense cold air around for internal combusting. So I'm enjoying my little afternoon drive. Then I see this VW parked on the side of the road with this 50 or so year old lady sitting next to it, on the ground, tire iron in hand, looking like she really had no idea about how to even start thinking about changing her front flat as a pancake tire.

For an instant it crossed my mind to stop - not because she was a "babe in distress" either, she was far from it - but I just kept driving. Then I started to feel bad - then I thought no way, I'm in my suit and sh*t and do I really want to get fu*kin dirty and all that (what a wuss I am) - but the guilt prevailed and I U-turned to head back and help. Next thing you know, I'm stopped at the light right before where the flat lady's sitting and BAM - I'm hit from behind by a rusty green Dodge minivan. F U C K !

So bottom line is that my bumper cover's cracked and the styrofoam impact absorber that's underneath is somewhat deformed and in case there's any doubt about who's responsible, there's a rectangular impression of the minivan's license plate frame on my rear bumper.

Oh well, no one got hurt and in the end, life goes on and it's just a car right???

Man that SUCKS bro! I'm sure you got her info and everything so it will be taken care of. Still sucks though. Get the insurance company to cut you a check. I got a guy that does great work and will hook you up (for any bodywork neccessary but you should buy the bumper and give it to him). Let me know if thats what you want to do. He painted my hood and bumpers and they came out perfect.

Wow sorry to hear that! Hey guess what? I hate to be the co*k eyed optimist here but imagine you had kept going the other way and a Semi 18 wheeler blindsided you? I am not saying that that was going to happen but I know for a fact that all things happen to good people for a reason. God will bless you for going back to help that woman, you may not see it now but I'm sure that either you were saved from a worse fate or that your intentions will be rewarded in some way. Keep up the good work and everything will be fine. I help people all the time that I dont have to and I am blessed for it everytime. Listen to blackbenzz your insurance check will be far greater than the actual cost of the repairs provided that you dont go to someone who is gonna rip you off. Buy a rear bumper off ebay then get it painted and you are gonna have $$$ left over for some new mods and your bumper will be fresh, no nicks or scratches. Better than new!!

P.S. its not just a car Its a Benz!!!!!

That sucks!! Sorry to hear that man. I thought karma was a good thing? Oh wait, passing an old lady first gets you bad karma. Glad you're ok man. And you're right, its just a car. Be thankful you didn't get hit in the front where the Kleeman is. Did you end up helping her?

You all are right - sucks but could have been alot worse.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll def. be open to some more advice once I know how much the check will be for - and Benzz, your local guy sounds good.

No - I didn't end up helping her... she was probably Roger Penske's wife and knew exactly what to do...
