Thinking about selling
I have been toying with the idea of selling my first Mercedes, a 99 CLK cabriolet that I have driven 26,000 miles since it came off the truck in July of 99. I had put a deposit on it since June of 97 and waited patiently for those two years until it arrived. It was a special car from the beginning, being one of only a handfull that had a silver body and blue top. As you can tell from the mileage, I don't drive it much, and had actually thought it might be a classic someday. Now I'm not so sure. I'd love to hear your opinions on the matter. This is not meant as an advertisement to sell my car to anyone here. It's simply an attempt to get a consensus from my peers that have a car like mine. These are hard decisions, so input is welcome.

Do you have a replacement vehicle in mind or did you just want to straight out sell it? Being that it is the clk320 cabrio, many of them are out there and chances are it will not be the type of classic I think you mean. As in appreciation in value and rarity of model. The precedecessor was sort of a different case E320 Conv W124. Very rare and harder to find excellent low-mileage examples as time goes by. But, unfortunately all of our W208 cars were largely produced and have unbelievably depreciated with newer faster and technologically advanced cars replacing them. Even the CLK55 coupe/cabrio which would be the most favorable model in the W208 lineup to become a classic would be iffy to reach the classic status I think you mean. If I were in your shoes, I'd unload it either for a CLK55 or a Porsche 911 Turbo. The 911 Turbo is a forever classic whether it is old or new. The only reason why I might refrain from selling the clk320 cabrio would be for sentimental value "first Mercedes". Just my 2 cents.
