Shift Gate feels sorta loosy goose...

'00 CLK430 & '08 Lexus RX 350
Shift Gate feels sorta loosy goose...
Weird....When I shift from Park down through Rev and Neut the shift gate movement seems a little off....sorta loose / kinda feels like a key in a loose lock tumbler....best way I can describe it. This seemed to happen over night.
When in Drive it seems tight and in place...+/- shifting works fine as well.

Wondering if this might just be that something inside shiftgate has come loose and needs tightening? A DIY?

Let me know if you guys have experienced this....or have a feeling you might know whats up.

You might be able to get someone to look at it Saturday at the Atlanta meet....I have not experienced those symptoms, so I can't really comment on what it may be.

Shifter bushing.....it's located under the car. very cheap and a pain in the *** to get in properly. very diy.
