Fuel Trim Malfuction

Ok so yeah...I had these codes come up p0170 & p0173. I understand that they could mean a potential leak in the valve cover gasket or a new MAF sensor may be in order...Anyway has anyone delt with this? And is this something that could be diy. Thanks for any input.

BTW this is for a 2000 430. The car still pulls hard and drives like normal. It has just over 70k miles. And still gets about the same mpg as it always has.

99% of the time, it means a bad MAF, but once or twice ive delt with small vacuum leaks that can throw the same code. Its very easy to change it yourself (be careful you dont break the plastic clip that holds it in) but that problem with diy is that the adaption data needs to be reset. Im not sure if that can be done with a generic scan tool but otherwise will need to be done by a dealer. If you just replace the maf and let the adaptions re-learn, it take a couple drive cycles wich can possibly take weeks.
