Insurance

I got some good news the other day. I'm going to save a bunch of money by switching to Geico. *no lie*

I started wondering what some of you pay for insurance? Here's my breakdown:

Age: uh, over 40...
Gender: Male
State: MD (inside DC beltway)
Incidents: 1 accident (in 2004)
Deductible: $250
Premium: $293 w/Geico on a policy w/my other vehicle (WAS $1077! w/Progressive so you KNOW I'm one happy **** )

Is that $293/month or every 6 months...I pay a little under $150/month for just 1 car, 27yrs old female...no accidents....driving for 12 years (15 in NC) with a $50/100 deductible...also w/ Geico....

State: FL
Incidents: No Accidents
Deductible: I don't even know...
Company: Allstate

I pay a lot, I'm pretty sure I'm paying a little less than 200 (just for the CLK) a month...sometimes it sucks being "young"

I have a 2000 CLK430 convertible and a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee both with 1000 deductable and I pay $450 every 6 months with no tickets or accidents and I am a 37 yr old single male. If you really want to drop your rates increase that deductable if you are a safe driver it will pay for itself over the years.

Damn, that is dirt cheap. You can't even get liability in califronia for that price. I'm going to check it out and see if I can lower my premium.

Tickets: 3 but 2 of them were in New Hampshire and its been over a year, So I'm hoping that they dont come over to MA.
Deductable: not sure
Monthly Payment: $323.00

One word form experience, Geico may be cheaper up front, but good luck trying to get them to pay if you ever have a claim. My good friend owns a large body shop and they see a lot of insurance claims. Geico is the worst for paying claims. Warren Buffet is not in the business of providing insurance, he is in the business of not providing insurance.

That Geico Premium for 6 mo is great! I thought mine was good. Sometimes I think its part driver history/car and part timing and getting the right sales person. Who knows?!

Doesn't apply? You can't get Progressive up there?

Well you're only 19. The tickets don't help but it looks like you already know that ($).

Wow. Really? I've never heard that about Geico. My minivan has been on a Geico plan since 97 and I've had 3 claims, all paid immediatey by the big G.
