rpm problems on 99 clk320

rpm problems on 99 clk320
everytime i start my car the rpm goes to 2000. then when i put the transmission on drive it drops to 5000. everytime i push my brake while on drive i can feel a vibration coming from the engine. Then when the transmission goes back on parking the vibration reduces but the RPM goes back on 2000. Does anybody knows what's going on ? i don"t want to take it to the dealership ,because they would want to replace everything and charge me thousands
