We know the W208 is hell for tire noise, I am also fed up with all the tire and road noise and I'm trying to figure out something for a fix. How much did it help for you to dynamat your car?

well...mine was built as a show car..mainly for the stereo, so pretty much everything that would sit still got a layer of dynomat. Trunk lid, spare-tire well, floors, doors, quater panels..didn't touch the roof though.

I did it in my 430 and im doing it to my 209 55 right now. Makes a huge difference in road noise and if your going to replace your stereo equipment it makes it sound alot better.

I played around with it on my first car, it makes a significant difference, but it adds a lot of weight at the same time.

My best friend did his M3 and it felt no faster than a regular 330i after he did it (of course, exaggeration, think about it).

yeah weight is already an issue on these pigs. I'm leaning towards spraying it in since I have a 20 gal porter cable compressor.

It will take a lot of time/efforts to "dynamat" the car. But it is a good improvement.

I actually owned car audio stores for years, I just never had any experience with the W208's performance on noise, nor have I ever seen a car have SO MUCH road noise and be such a heavily padded car already.

Are there rubber dampers on the coil hats? It doesn't seem like the chassis is separated enough from the axles. Maybe some body bushings.......

The clk is unit-body construction, not body on frame. But agreed, they certainly could have done the double layer metal/absorption material on the wheel wells and floor like other manufacturers have done (such as Toyota/Lexus has done).

Tire selection is crucial on these cars, unless you take the time out to take it apart and dynamat the interior. Otherwise you'll hear a lot of road noise with noisy tire designs - above and beyond what the stock setup is like.
