Finished New System
No, it is not just a new system. It is truly hi-end, audiophile grade, high quality sound system. The killer system. It is also very ))) loud (((
It took over two months for me to install it all. I am not a stereo-installer but I did all installation myself because 1. I don't trust those "car-butchers" from a local "Car Stereo Installation" shops.
2. I believe that no one could do this job on your car better than yourself.
3. Save a lot of money (many thousand$) on the installation labor cost.
First picture is a diagram with all components in this system:

First thing I did was "Dynamating" the whole car.
Six boxes (120 pounds) of Dynamat Extreme went there. It is 216 square feet total or equal to 20 square meter or 31,104 square inch (!) (it really took a lot of my time and efforts to intall it). I didn't only cover a roof and floor (I didn't want to take the whole car apart) but everything else is covered with Dynamat completely.

After "Dynamating", I rewired the car.
I had to make all speaker and subwoofer cables (14 pairs) from rolls because Monster wires came in rolls with no spades on ends.
Out of these rolls (almost 100 ft) I made 14 pairs of cables (for 4 tweeters, 4 mids, 4 crossovers and 2 subwoofers).
Those Monster XLN 400-Series wires are pretty complex with all kind of isolution on them. Before attaching spades, I had to remove all the isolution:

Knowing that trunks are sealed in CLK, I had to make ports. One port is in the rear deck now (between mids):
Two more are in back of rear seats (cut 12" round holes and covered them with regular speaker grills). Picture below is a back of rear seat with and without grill attached:
In a car:
And one more port I cut behind the arm-rest (you can also see it on the previous picture).

Crossovers for the front stage are behind door panels.
Here is a picture of one crossover and one mid-woofer in the trunk. By the way, it took almost a whole day to make custom housings (out of original Mercedes housings and using 1" spacers) for a pair of theses Dynaudio mid-woofers.
About Dynaudio for those who are not familiar with Dynaudio. It is simple. Their speakers are absolute best. And yes, even better than Focals
I also cut holes in door and quarter panels to fit tweeters:
By the way, it was not easy to find extra room inside of a door for a tweeter

Here is a picture of the sub before I put it in the trunk.
Kicker ('old-school' ZR1000 - a legend amp (was over $1200 new)) is 250W X 2 with a "Parametric Bass Module" (remote-controllable bass EQ).:

Denon DCT-Z1 CD player (MSRP $2500). Trully a perl of hi-end car audio and almost impossible to find in the USA (search Google for more info).
"Day and Night" view:
Interior view:
AudioControl Four.1 is the only (and first) hi-end equalizer ever made for car audio.

McIntosh. Both are four-channel amps but I briged them for more power. Now 2 X 175 Watts each. I think it (plus Kicker ZR1000 with two 15"s) answers 'clkal's question about "does it sound good and bump?"

That's all.
Too bad I cannot play it over the Internet for you. I am pretty much sure you would like it.

Incredible work! Anyone can buy high end stuff and pay to have it installed. I have installed a few things in the car and I can't imagine the amount of time (and research) it took to figure out how to strip down the interior like you did for the Dynamat. Really a fantastic job. I'm sure you probably could care less, but how do you plan on getting to your spare if you need to?
