CLK55k vs Viper

Ted
I have an nsx and a 430clk and i have to say that I would take the Nsx over the clk any day! It def. is a supercar. I have owned and driven alot of different cars and there is no other car that makes you feel so in control of the road. Its like an oversized go kart. And with the engine screaming right behind your ear its amazing. Dont get me wrong I think the clk is a great car but when doing some spirited driving the nsx rules!

btw looks like you have some mods going with your NSX.
The NSX no doubt is a supercar, but I still have debate over the way-over-priced msrp.

...........No I see that you are kinda confused. The post was "CLK55K vs Viper." A CLK55K by definition is a CLK55 with a Kompressor. You may bee thinking that CLK55K refers to the stock CLK55 AMG. It does not. Is his why you have been so adamant?
ted
without looking it up, what kind of 0-60 time does the stock NSX put out?
Eric
correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't the NSX introduced with a ticket price of about $70K...
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
In that case, it would be stock vs. stock. Since the conditions are the same, the only problem is now the driver. IMO, the SAME driver should make 3 runs in each car under the same conditions and you take the average of the 3 runs. Since most people don't take their MBs to the track, it's difficult to find many head to head 1/4 mile runs. I agree stock vs. stock is close enough to go either way depending on driver skill under the same conditions.

right, the guy who has more money than me... and then that guy will be beat by a faster car with a guy who has even more money than him... and so the story goes round and round....
IMHO, Schuey is good but Montoya is better, the only thing saving Schuey is his car!!
Montoya has gotten more pole positions than Schuey in a inferior car....
I own a 2000 NSX-T and have done a 12.9 at 108.
My car is STOCK all the way. It is in NO WAY SLOW!
I bought the car used for less than 70k! It will eat all AMG cars sold in the USA at this date (hold the SL55).
To all those, that have never driven or owned an NSX, please stop bashing the NSX. If only you guys knew how well it drives.
The NSX has a sense of finesse and pizzazz, that many of you, I don't think, will truly understand without ever driving it. In the meantime, keep your hate and ignorance to yourselves.
Base prices: $80,043-84,443
3.0-liter DOHC 24-valve V-6, 252-270 hp; 5-sp man, 4-sp auto
0 - 60 mph [secs] 5.1
1/4 mile [secs at mph] 13.5
For the price, i think ill buy 2 corvettes, thank you...
Acura NSX-T
1/4 mile [secs at mph] 13.4
12.9? i believe you, and i am impressed!!! could this number i just found online be wrong? found it at several different websites....it was on a 1998, were the 2000's different? Thanks in advance.
Eric
Don't give opinions unless you have the FACTS to back it up!!

Car and driver tested a stock 2000 NSX-T with the 3.2L engine.
This was televised on "Car and Driver Television"
The car did a 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and passed through the 1/4 in 12.9.
The bottom line is:
Older NSX's 1991-1996 are indeed slower than 97+ ones. This is due manly to the gearing (5 speed) and the 3.0L engine.
I good driver in a late model NSX will not have a problem walking away from the current AMG offerings.
I bought the car NOT to drag race but to enjoy it as my track and weekend car.
Finally,
Used NSX's are bargains! Anyone that states that you don't get enough performance for the money is IGNORANT. Plain and simple. Do your due diligence in the future before making claims.
For LESS money than most USED AMG cars. A 97 and up NSX has MORE performance in a straight line and in the twisties. Period.
Now if you want to own a mass produced big clown shoe of a car filled with cheep plastics than that is your choice.
I will stick with my ALL aluminum mid engine exotic car.
NSX has excellent looks and it drives very well, but performance doesn't go with the high price you pay for that car.
For less money I can get a Viper, a Vette Z06, a Z4, etc. IMO if the NSX was 15-20k cheaper, that it would be worth every pennie.
Please remember these are opinions, i'm not trying to put the NSX down, neither your judgment for getting one.
Ted
