I take note of labor rates anytime I'm in a shop. It's my impression that the better shops charge as much, if not more, than the dealer when you're looking at major urban areas. I really don't know where to suggest if you're looking to get work done "cheap". Nothing is cheap today, IMO...whether GM or Benz... I think the only way you can save a few bux is to handle the repairs/maintenance yourself assuming you got the time, temperament and tools
