i want to hide a power supply but i dont know how to get to the back of it, i want to run the cable to the glovebox.. is this possible?

I used they power of the cigarette lighter to power my Sirius. I just pulled the lighter fixture out (there are a few screws to pull the cover/ashtray unit out. You get to them by pulling the trim from the shifter and then pulling the wood surround up.). It is real easy. The wire on the back of the lighter is easy to tap into. Anything can be used as the ground. I am sure that you can hide the wire under the trim and run it into the back of the glove box.

 

thanks for that info, now i know how to get to it. but how do i tap into it. do i need a special connector , or do i cut a wire?

 

go to radio shack...they will have a hook up that will tap into the existing wire (sharp prong goes through the wire and clamps in place). You can cut and splice with no problem. Just make shure that you wrap it so that you don't get any shorts. Should be easy to do!

 

thanks for the info again... one last thing, which wire do i tap into behind the cig lighter, its connected to like 4 different colored wires
