my sis is trying to figure out if she should keep the car for another year or trade it in for the W209.
it is a 2000 CLK320 with 25xxx miles. Fully loaded except the phone.

Given you are in So. Cal, CLK320s are almost dime-a-dozen.
If she sells it privately, you can realistically expect about $34-35,000. If she does a trade-in at the dealer, then she is looking to get about $30,000.
I would say, hold off another year, let the rush for the W209 die down and if she still seriously wants the new model, then sell the W208. Plus, this way, MB can work out any glitches in the new design so you can get a problem free car

Realistically you won't get nearly that much for the car. The book is really inflated and a dealer will offer you closer to 25K if you trade it in, even if it has really low mileage (they don't add for miles) If you want to know what a dealer will give you, check the wholesale blue book, and hit yourself back about 3-5 grand. Privately, you won't get full retail either, you can expect to get a value somewhere in between retail and wholesale. Just thought you might like to have some more accurate numbers ;0)

thanks for the advise guys. Actually i think that her CLK320 is sort of crap, maybe it's because it is the first year they facelifted the car, and have NAV for option. The quality of her car is no where near my brother's friend's 02 CLK320.
btw another choice would be a 01 CLK55. A friend of ours is going to sell that car. It's accident free. If we get that, it'll be a keeper for another couple years.
