Filters: K&N vs. Green, what's the difference ?
Re: 2000, 430CLK
Filters: K&N (#33-2183) vs. Green (#2240), what's the difference ?
I've used K&N in my bikes, cars, trucks, etc. with good results.
They are priced about the same.
Read a posting somewhere that the K&N causes problems with the MAP because of oil, so the Green is preferred.
I don't get it. Both of these are rechargeble with oil.
What's the difference ?

i dont know if thats correct, unless you soaked the filter in motor oil or worse cooking oil i dont see how its going to cause any issue. of course if thats what someone is doing they have bigger issues then the map or maf sensor.
is 33-2183 the right number for the 430, i have seen a different number listed and havent been able to find one on a self anywhere to double check before ordering.

Yep, those are the right part numbers.
I looked them up again on the net.
I looked for these filters at Autozone.
They use their own numbering system
that is different from the maker's.
I couldn't find either of these anywhere locally.
Will probably have to order them from the internet, somewhere.

Yikes.
My sympathies. I stayed with the paper filters to avoid unnecessary problems,
which in Mercedes lingo, transaltes to , money, money, money.
MAF might just be dirty. You might be able to clean it.
Here's what I did:
