Kleemann Headers?

Has anyone had any experience with kleemann headers on a 430? I wanna know if there is a power gain? do you notice any difference? Im trying to figure out wether its worth it or not. I got a price for $2200 for the headers. does this sound reasonable? Thank You

Well I took the heads and everything myself, so i didnt have to pay for labor. The parts came out to about $350, that was for the all the gaskets and plugs. The machine shop charged me $650 to port and polish the heads, with new valves and everything, and to polish the intake manifold.

No, and that was my biggest mistake. I wasnt even really planning on doing it. I had a flat tire, my car was sitting at my shop, and on a saturday afternoon i decided to pull everything out.

Thats dirt cheap! The best price I've found is $2500 if I take the heads off and give it to them to port and polish!

Yeah the guy took it easy on me since he knew me, and since I own a shop, he can give me more discounts.

Which cams do you have and how much were they? How did your car feel with the cam install?

With that price and new valves the guy practically ported your heads and polished your manifold for free or the other way around! Why did you need new vavles?

According to PTE the headers alone made a very nice increase on the dyno and track in his CLK55.

The cams are C4 cams. They made a noticeable difference, specialy on the freeway. They cost $4000.

You spent $4K on a set of cams? Ouch. For all the money that has been spent on the mods you've done, you could have almost bought a supercharger where you could really be putting down some power.

Thats how much they go for, not how much I paid for them. I got them pretty much for free. My friend had bought them for his car, a week before we were gonna install them, his car got tottalled so he had no need for them.

Can't beat that deal, nice. Plans to dyno your car with the the head work, cams, and headers? I am interested to see what kind of power you are making.

Cams

You guys keep refering to cams in the plural, I thought a 430 has a SOHC not DOHC, or are you talking about a different engine?

$2,200 for headers? Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

Just for reference, Edelbrock makes great headers for domestic V8 engines starting at $370. But yea, I know, its not made by the elite fairies and unicorns at Kleemann so obviously it must be of poor quality and our fabulous Mercedes' should never have such things in them OH MY!!!! If we don't get raped by Kleemann, Renntech, etc., then its not worthy of Benz application. I learned after having a turbo charged C220 with Carlsson kit and wheels, Eisenmann exhaust, etc. that I will never mod a Benz again for performance. The gains are not worth the cost.
