Where do you put your Blackberry/phone?

I have a 2002 430 Cab (without navi) as my summer car, and now that the weather has gotten nice I'm driving the car, but I'm not sure where to put my phone.

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I don't want to keep my phone in my pocket when I drive and when I put the phone on/in the shelf under the radio it gives out way too much static over the speakers/radio. My RAZR did the same thing, but it wasn't as bad. Now that I have a Blackberry Pearl it appears that I can't even have it near the radio.

My girlfriend is tired of holding my phone all the time, so I was wondering if anybody puts their phone anywhere else.

Thanks!

Hi, I bought a $9.99 protective skin for my blackberry pearl which has helped me out tremendously re: phone placement w/in my automobile. The skin is made out of a rubbery material which sticks very good to the wood grain center console area where the cup holder retracts from. I've been using that space as my phone storage area and it has worked out well so far.
