Question about tires, please help.

Is it safe to drive with two different brands of tires for front and rear? For instance, front tires are P7000 Supersport and rear tires are Nitto 555?

Well, don't know how accurate this is but my brother was told that part of the reason he lost control of his M3 and hit a wall doing 60MPH was that the tires were different on the front and the rear. The body shop mgr at BMW told him this; he said it was because the front and rear tires 'work together' to maintain balance and grip. Once again, don't know how true this info is, just thought I'd pass it on. You may want to post on the Wheels, Tires, Suspension forum.

I am running with 4 Nitto tires right now but my front tires are running out soon, so I plan to get a pair of P7000. Since, there are some of you using P7000, how do you like your tires? I heard that they are noisy, is that true?

My dad had Michelins (stock) on the rear of his corvette and Bridgestones (i believe, dont remember) for a while as the fronts wore out much quicker obviously. Never had any problems. Shouldnt front vs rear, i wouldnt have different brands on different sides of the car though, traction differences might cause some problems....

Thanks for the info guys, I'll surely go for P7000 or at least something different for my front tires once my current tires run out. Anyone has any comment on the P7000 tires?
