Anti-roll headrest reset

Strange thing happened today. I went over some railroad tracks and my emergency roll headrest system kicked in and the rear headrests kicked up and I cannot use the switch to bring them back down.

Anyone know how to reset them or do I have to go to the dealer once they deploy?

I'd look first for the fuse(s) that supply the motors for the rear seat head restraints. It's hard to believe that both motors have failed simultaneously.

On my 2000 clk 430 you have to run push the button to the up position and hold it there for a while and it should relatch and then run it down. The jar disconnected it from the hydraulic piston which has to be extended all the way up to relatch. It is made to go up by springs in case of a crash or roll over. Much faster than hydraulics. are the rear headrest suppose to come up automatically if you press the button on the dash? if the headrest are up and i press the button they will go down. never new that they go up by themselves gotta try it.
