Trunk problem

Does anyone know how to adjust the spring in the trunk? I don't like how it pops up too quickly and my car shakes.

W213 '17 E43 ///AMG - W211, W208 no more
mine pops up like a jack-o-lantern (sp?)... but the car never shakes...

this topic has been discussed here before... the resolution: take it to the dealer to do this to avoid injury. there are 3 settings, but the springs are very very tight, one slip, and you seriously injur yourself

You guys are missing the point. The high velocity trunk serves an important purpose.

Thousands of years ago, MBs were used to invade castles. As most of you know, castles were surrounded by moats and very high, thick walls with guards on top. An invading force would initiate a biological attack by hurling a dead body contaminated with smallpox or some other highly contagious disease over the wall.

How did they hurl the body over the wall you ask?

They parked a benz out front, put the body on the trunk lid - then hopped inside and popped the trunk.

And then 10,000 knights riding on dragons charge out of the forest, and the dragons breath fire until all the water in the moat is evaporated and then they attack the castle........

I have an //AMG, and the trunk opens twice as fast! Often the force of the trunk opening causes rear wheels to lift off the ground.
