Need help with strange readings

OK I had a small tree commit suicide and jump out in front of my car taking out my bumper. I have all the cosmetic taken care of but having a few strange things happening. My dash reading for my temp is reading -38 F, now I have had some of the LCDs go on and off over time but this is staying there.

I also did the rest button for 6 sec and the 1 reads 261 (in car temp sensor) and the 2 reads 68 (bumper temp sensor). Do I have some kind of reset for this?

Ok figured out why it says 261 for #1, it has something to do with the top. When it is down that is what the read out says, but put the top up and it is right on.

Still need to know if there is a reset for the outside temp though.

Your temp sensor says that because it is either no hooked up or the sensor is broken.

The sensor used to be located on the old AMG bumper so I dont know where it was relocated but I think the error is because its unhooked. The only reason I know this is because it just happened to me this past weekend. I put the new lights on and when I put the bumper together I forgot to hook the temp sensor again and I got that error.

Hope this helps.

Ok got a new temp sensor and that did the trick. BUT one thing I found out or that caught my eye is the two readings don't always match. The one on the dash must be speed sensitive in some way. The one on the climate control when you use the REST button will go up to 140 at a stop light from the engine heat but the dash stays the same. Then when you start up the CC one comes back down to ambient and matches the dash. It I am driving and I see the CC reading go up or down then the dash matches. Guess they just know how much heat is under that hood.
