Alpine IVA-C801

this is single din. imo it is one of the best units out there right now. you can add a cd changer to it with mp3 compatibility. of course having one myself does not bias my opinion at all....

If you are in the San Gabriel Valley area.... check out Sprewell Racing.... they have a sound shop there run by Mike (forgot his last name) Maukai? They do lots of stuff for movie stars and pro athletes. Hence... the hook up with Latrell Sprewell...

They have a spectacular showroom in there too... usually a Lamborghini... CLK55 Conv't, and big S600 among others....

I'd been to Sprewell but I did not know that they do audio stuff. I'll sure check them out. May I know who does you audio job? Sprewell?

They did my last car... and they do awesome work... I started learning and doing my own stuff for a while, but nothing I do compares to the stuff they make. Anything is possible with them.

History lesson: They use to fly solo under the name 'Advanced Concepts' and Latrell Sprewell was practically their biggest customer, and after Sprewell bought out Dazz Motorsports, they teamed up and became partners...

When you pull into their parking lot in the back, the audio shop is right there... they have an office in the showroom tucked behind the cashier's office.

mean no disrespect to sprewell racing, but how much do they charge and how are their prices? ive heard from various people that the prices are ridiculous and sprewell's celebrity clients are about the only ones that can afford going there regularly...

yea, their stuff is pretty pricey.... for instance... H&R springs with Bilstein sport shocks... $1,200 installed. But everything is negotiable... you are basically buying the name

i mean, you can probably get a better deal going to Al&Eds... but you won't get the experience and know-how

Heard lots about Pacific stereo... i recommend too...

Al&Eds prices everything at MSRP... but because they order in large volume... they have big profits... if you chat with sales person, and get more than just 1 item... you can negotiate a real good deal. but it varies.....

I went to nearby Al & Ed's the other day, I think their prices are a bit too high. Does Pacific Stereo have website? Thanks.

i had a audio installer who worked independently out of the warehouse that rb tech is at... he did most of the work for my complete system and even fashioned a custom floor board for my alpine iva-c800 brain. i do have many friends that have gotten their equipment installed at mobile fantasy. all ive got to say is that their prices may not be the cheapest.. but the quality and craftmanship is 5 star... its pretty much where you get what you pay for and im down for that...

Were you able to integrate the steering wheel controls? We have all been looking for an answer to this for a long time.

i'm pretty sure the answer is a big fat NO... the optical link prevents aftermarket audio from being integrated... i've looked all over too, and no luck

The audio shop I went told me that you can buy an adaptor kit for your headunit then you'll be able to use your steering wheel to control the music again.
