CLK 430
![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
As a new owner, I have searched my owners manual, the various web sites, including this forum, and nowhere can I find a MB-recommended oil for my CLK430.
I have seen references to Mobil 1 0W40, but nothing definitive.
What is the MB-recommended oil or oils for my car?
Thanks,
Kurt

Dealer and Indys Both Using 5w40 Mobil 1 in So. Texas
Hard to find at retail outlets, but dealers and good independent MB shops are using 5w40 ESP, which I believe is Emission Systems Protection. Of course I'm in South Texas and NO ONE runs a OW oil down here.
Last oil change, I had my indy put in AMSOIL 5w40...so far very good!

Mobil 1 0W40 it is.
When would a 5W40 or 10W40 be more appropriate? Please give me more details than "in hot weather."
Do other Mobil 1 products carry the MB 229.5 designation?
