Have you guys seen the black emblems (hood ornament, trunk emblem and class designations)? I think they're black out chrome. They were pretty common in the late 80s when everybody was replacing their chrome parts with gold parts. I haven't seen any blacked out emblems for a few years and after seeing the blacked out grill on one of these threads, it jarred my memory. Those blacked out emblems will look pretty good on a black 430 with black window trims. Anybody seen them for sale recently?

I've been looking around. There aren't any blacked out versions of the new emblems. I also think that it would look good my car with the black grill and trims.
From talking to a couple of people from the dealer, it seems like one would have to have a bodyshop sand/glassbead blast the emblems and paint them. too much stress and $ for small blacked out emblems.

i've seen black emblems for mercedes in Hong Kong, but they were not chromed. they are a "sanded" surface, they looked cool on black cars, i agree.
i believe they are sold in Hong Kong at a Lorinser/carlsson boutique.
