What is the correct tire size for 19" wheels to keep the stock-like radius?
19 x 8.5 and 19 x 9.5 rear
Seems like everyone is in agreement about the rears 265/30/19... although it throws the speedo off a bit but it's apparently the closest you can get, am i correct?
Now for the 19 x 8.5 - Everyone is running different sizes...
235/35/19
245/35/19?
255/30/19?
which is the closest match?
and can someone check this on the miata tire size calculator for me as mine does not work and i have java enabled!

I believe it should be 235 35 19 and 265 30 19, for optimal looks and near stock overall sizes...
Here are the important stats:
front, from 225 45 17 to 235 35 19
revs/mile: 808 to 792 rev/mile
diameter: 25 to 25.5 in
2.0 % too fast speedo (actually 61.2 when speedo says 60)
rear, from 245 40 17 to 265 30 19
revs/mile: 816 to 798 rev/mile
diameter: 24.7 to 25.3 in
2.2 % too slow speedo (actually 61.3 when speedo says 60)

thanks guys. i thought 245s would make more sense on an 8.5 inch wide wheel just as it is on the stockers but in the rear.
But does anyone have any suggestions for affordable tires? 265/30 is a strange size and not much stuff available. Any chance I can get those for around 150/each?

you can check the classifieds here and the sale wanted and trade at the benzworld forums and find slightly used ones at about 150 each, usually pretty nice ones.

On staggered 19's for the front 19 x 8.5, 235/35/19 is recomended. On the rear 19 x 9.5, 265/30/19 is recomended. With those sizes, the most popular tires are the General Exclaim UHP. Check tirerack.
