Sorry, yet another ipod install (pics)
Just thought i would let the brothers know about the ipod install that i did last week. I have this set up in all my cars so i thought i would share it with you. The head set is a Sony- Drives unit (CDX-GT5OUI) that cost a very very reasonable £160 (Sterling) and comes with direct Ipod interface as well as a front USB slot for storage devices like Gig Sticks ect. Also there is a jack plug socket for other MP3 players to be plugged into.
The head set only took 5 minutes to install due to surprise surprise a direct plug into the standard Merc connectors. I designed the Ipod lead to retract after use into the lower odds and bits tray and into the space behind the dash, so it can not be seen. Only the head of the lead is at the rear of the tray.So when its needed just pull it out and push it back in.....simple.
Once either the Ipod or Gig stick has been plugged in all music/Artist information is displayed and controlled via the head set its self and can be controlled via remote control.
Anyways here are the photos and i think it looks great and is in keeping with the style of the CLK
