The bose speakers are of a different ohm load than most speakers. You will do best by completely ditching the bose system and installing all new 4ohm speakers in place of the old ones. They often aren't very compatible with other manufacturer's equipment. Someone else might have a better idea though.

Added a 4 band Parametric EQ with 18 DB gain.
Now the HU plays as loud if not louder than the stock HU.
Here's some pics.

Very happy with this setup now!
