Windshield Replacement

I'm about to replace my windshield and my insurance won't pay for a original mb windshield because the car is more than 2 years old. I called the glass company and they told me they will replace it with a Sekurit windshield, I have no idea if this is a good replacement or not the one that is on now is made by Sigla. Any input much appreciated.

Thanks E.

Ask them if they will give you the money they were going to use for the replacement and you pitch in the rest for a MB one. OR.....have the glass company just get the money for the replacement and they put in an MB one and pay the glass co the difference.

If you have rain-sensing wipers then it might not work with a generic windshield.

BTW, who is your insurance with?

After buying my pre-owned MB, I discovered that I have a replacement windshield (LOF made in Finland) and I think my car is less valuable as a result. I also think that the rain sensing wiper is not quite right. If I were you, I'd pay the difference and have an OEM installed.

if you need a non mb logo winshield, go wtih Pinkington, they are OEM MB so it is the same stuff minus the logo. should run you about $300-$400 and $50 to put it in.

I bought OEM glass at Caliber Motors in Anaheim For $315 (with rain sensor). The top gasket was $54.

Try them out!
