My baby is ready.

Dealer says “stuck valve within valve body,” with no damage to other components of the transmission. They’ve replaced the valve body (and the unrelated failed fuel sending unit) and say I can pick up my baby any time.

I’ve got a bias against repaired automatic transmissions – purely emotional, based only on gut reaction. Any reason I should worry about this? Should I just rest easy knowing that I’ve got another 78k miles during which MB pays if the slush box dies again?

Thanks,

Jim

I wouldn't worry about it. You've got plenty of time to make use of your warranty. Plus, before you are out of warranty, you can request that they rebuild your tranny, making it like new.

Nah, not to worry. The valve body regulates pressure within itself to control when and how the transmission shifts. You'll be fine. Now if you were talking about slipping bands or a whacked torque converter, the story would be different.
